Announcement of our new governors

We are delighted to introduce our newly elected governors and extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in the recent elections. Our governors play a crucial role in ensuring that the voices of our members, staff, and the wider community are heard in shaping the future of the Trust.

What Do Governors Do?
Governors sit on the Council of Governors (CoG) and work closely with the Trust’s leadership team. They represent the views of the public, staff, service users, and carers, helping to influence decisions and ensure the Trust operates in the best interests of the communities it serves.

Public Governors:
Public Governors represent the interests of the wider community, acting as a bridge between the Trust and the public. Their key responsibilities include:
•    Holding Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to Account – Ensuring NEDs are effectively overseeing the board’s decisions and performance.
•    Representing the Public’s Interests – Bringing community feedback to the Trust to shape policies and services.
•    Fulfilling Statutory Responsibilities – Approving key appointments and significant strategic decisions.

Staff Governors:
Staff Governors represent the views and concerns of Trust employees, ensuring that their voices contribute to decision-making. They provide insight from frontline teams, helping to improve working conditions, staff engagement, and overall service delivery.

Service User & Carer (SU&C) Governors:
Service User & Carer Governors bring valuable perspectives from individuals who use the Trust’s services and their carers. They ensure that service users’ experiences directly inform improvements in care quality, accessibility, and support services.
