The North London Mental Health Partnership is proud of its reputation as an organisation that puts the welfare of its service users, its carers and its staff at the heart of everything it does.
Being kind, respectful and proudly diverse are among our Values and they are non-negotiable. They deliberately echo the wider NHS’s number one value of respect and dignity at all times. Those are not values that we believe have been upheld on the social media platform ‘X’ recently.
We have seen a growing intolerance among some on the platform, of anyone who is different. Extreme views and toxic debate have become the norm, with misinformation fuelling racist violence in the last fortnight.
As a multicultural and diverse organisation, we find this unconscionable. The need to provide psychologically-safe spaces for our service users and our staff, both in the real and the online world, is paramount.
While once a valued environment for respectful interaction and the sharing of Partnership news and information, X is no longer a place where we, as an organisation, feel comfortable and that is why we have decided to leave.
Our last post was on Tuesday 13 August and our account was deleted at Monday 19 August. We will continue our online presence via our other social media sites including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn (BEH) and LinkedIn (C&I). Please do follow us on these channels.
