We're here to support your wellbeing in 2025

January can be a difficult time when it comes to our wellbeing, with cold weather, long nights and the hype of the festive season well behind us. However, our Trust is here to support you — plus Great Mental Health Day on 31 January brings with it lots of resources and events to help you navigate the winter season.

Here, we're sharing some useful information about two of our services: talking therapies for anyone living in the North London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington, and our perinatal mental health service for people from the same five boroughs.

Our talking therapies service is encouraging you to self-refer

Talking therapies services offer free, confidential help for problems such as stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia. We're here to support everyone in our local communities, regardless of background or current circumstances.

Our talking therapies services provide cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), counselling, other therapies and guided self-help across North London.

Our perinatal service is also now accepting self-referrals

The perinatal period (from pregnancy to two years postnatal) can be both exciting and overwhelming, and mental health challenges can sometimes look different during this period. The North London Foundation Trust (NLFT) Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service is a community-based mental health service providing specialist assessment and treatment for women, birthing people, their partners and babies with mental health difficulties and who:

  • are planning a pregnancy and need advice
  • are currently pregnant
  • have a baby under 24 months old.

Get involved in Great Mental Health Day

Great Mental Health Day returns on Friday 31 January. The aim of Great Mental Health Day is to get us talking about our mental health and wellbeing, which can be especially important during the winter season. It also raises awareness of the local support services and resources that are available to Londoners all year round.

The theme for Great Mental Health Day 2025 is ‘small actions for others’. When times are tough, it’s important that we look after our own, and each other's, wellbeing. The day encourages Londoners to come together through local events and initiatives, sharing stories, experiences, and exploring ways to support individual and community wellbeing.

The Thrive LDN website  will host information about any events that are taking place as part of the day through an interactive map where Londoners can find local services and support. The site also has details of a range of free learning and training opportunities that you can access whenever suits you.

You can also  join a free webinar to find out about the free, digital wellbeing service Good Thinking , which has partnered with Great Mental Health Day. Good Thinking provides free mental health and wellbeing support to all Londoners.

We wish everyone in our local communities a safe and healthy start to 2025 and beyond.
