
Andy has over 40 years of experience in healthcare. Initially qualified as a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) before completing further training as a Registered Nurse in General Nursing and Learning Disabilities. He was appointed to his first Executive Director role in 1996 and has since held senior leadership positions in several NHS Trusts, including Chief Nurse
and Chief Operating Officer roles.
Andy’s career has focused primarily on mental health and learning disabilities. While in Essex, he played a key role in the development of the Integrated Care System (ICS) for North East Essex and Suffolk, serving as Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for Mental Health. He also spent time at NHS Improvement (NHSI) as Associate National Director of Mental Health, working on nurse retention and Safer Staffing initiatives.
Passionate about nursing, Andy is dedicated to ensuring the patient voice and experience remain central to his work. He is delighted to serve as Interim Chief Nurse at North London NHS Foundation Trust.
