How to prevent dementia? Join us for a talk with Prof Gill Livingston

We are pleased to invite you to a free event aimed at increasing our understanding of dementia and dementia prevention. The event will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about dementia and get practical tips that can be beneficial for everyone’s wellbeing. 

At the event, you will also get valuable insights into how dementia works and the proactive steps you can take to help prevent it. The talk will be led by Professor Gill Livingston, a leading expert in psychiatry for older people.

Time: 6:30 – 8:00 PM  
Location: Stephens House & Gardens, 17 East End Road, London N3 3QE (nearest train station is Finchley Central on the Northern Line)

This is a free event open to everyone including Partnership staff, friends, family, service users, and carers. Please invite anyone who might benefit from learning more about dementia and its prevention.

The venue is fully accessible, and refreshments will be available.

More about the speaker

G Livingstone

Gill is a clinical academic focused on helping people with dementia and their families. Her explores ways to prevent dementia and improve the lives of those affected by it. She is a co-lead at a global research group that has influenced policies aimed at reducing dementia risk.

Gil also develops programmes to support family carers. One of these, called START, helps reduce stress, improves quality of life, and has been successfully adapted in countries like Japan and Spain. Another programme, DREAMS START, improves sleep for both carers and people with dementia.
