The North London Mental Health Partnership (NLMHP) is launching a new programme for adults aged 19+ who want to work in the NHS but don’t have the required skills or qualifications to follow current pathways.
Step Into Work is a 12-week programme designed to help people gain real work experience to pursue a career in the NHS.
The programme gives adults aged 19+ the opportunity to access an interactive and experiential blended learning through short, unpaid full-time placements in a variety of specialisms and departments across NLMHP, including Human Resources, Administration, Estates and Facilities, Finance and IT.
The programme has been created in partnership with local community organisations, including The Prince’s Trust and the Department for Work and Pensions.
On completion of the programme, the participants will receive an employability skills certification with the hope they can join NLMHP via an apprenticeship, bank temporary staff or a substantive post.
The programme is starting in February 2024 with future cohorts taking place throughout the year. Applications for the first cohort are open until 10 January 2024.
Our Learning and Organisational Development team said: “This is a great opportunity to work as part of the NLMHP team, supporting our services and providing care to our local communities. Not only does working within the NHS give you immense job satisfaction, but there are also many other benefits to joining us.”
