Step Into Work programme celebrates its first cohort of delegates

The 11 delegates that joined the first cohort of Step Into Work successfully completed the programme and shared their experiences at their graduation event on 17 May.

Delegates shared their experiences about taking part on the programme and what this meant for them as well as how this experience will help them in the future.

Each delegate either did a presentation or a written blog highlighting their learnings, experiences and  feedback on the programme.

Seb Mabena, Learning and Development Lead across the Partnership, handed in the delegates with their graduation certificates and thanked them for taking part on the programme and for their contribution making it a great success. He said:

“It is great to hear about your journey, learning and experience.

I’m glad you enjoyed taking part on the programme and it’s great to also get your input and hear your valuable feedback and how we can make it even better for the next cohort of delegates.

I’m already looking forward to the next cohort.”

During their presentations, the delegates shared the following feedback:

“I am extremely grateful to Isi and Seb for their help in facilitating learning and development for the Step Into Work program. I want to thank them for the wonderful experience and for their support during my involvement in the program at the Partnership.”

“My highlight was the Talent Predix session we had, this has helped me improve my CV and interview techniques. The Partnership has a very positive culture and from what I have witnessed, it seems like a great and exciting place to work. I hope I will be able to work in a role like the oneI had experienced during my placement.”

“My experience at the Partnership was very enriching and provided me with valuable insights into the corporate and clinical aspects of healthcare. The skills and knowledge I gained will undoubtedly help me in my future career. I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to applying what I have learned in my future endeavours.

“The environment I was in opened me up to a vast range of opportunities to develop myself in many areas. I gained valuable skills that will enable me to gain a route into a new career within the NHS. During the work placement, I found everyone to be an excellent source of support and I enjoyed engaging with different teams and experiencing many different aspects of Human Resources.”

“It’s has been an incredible opportunity for me to meet people from different departments that have different roles and work experiences as well as unique visions, drives and talents. It gave me an incredible opportunity to discover more about who I am, what my talents, drives and values are and to be able to recognize what sort of environment I am at my best the most, which allows me to bring more of myself.”

Step Into Work is a 12-week programme aimed at providing people with skills and real work experience to pursue a career in the NHS. The second cohort of the programme is expected to kick off in April 2025.
