North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) is making plans to introduce electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) across St Ann’s wards. 

ePMA is already in use in many sites across NLFT and offers a modern way of managing and administering medicines which improves patient safety and is part of the NHS Long Term Plan to bring in digital prescribing across the whole NHS.  

Lucy Reeves, Chief Pharmacist at NLFT said : “We are excited to be bringing ePMA into St Ann’s . Results from other sites has shown that ePMA can improve patient safety and clinical governance, reduce s prescribing errors and d eliver s improved productivity .  

“ In the longer term, once ePMA is fully implemented across all inpatient sites at NLFT, we can focus on optimising the system, expanding it to community services, and exploring other exciting innovations in the digital medicines space .”
