Winners announced for Calming Nature Photography Competition

Calming Nature Photography Competition icon

Thank you to everyone who entered our Calming Nature Photography Competition, to help create a calming environment at our new Highgate East Hospital.

We received over 1000 photograph entries from over 200 individuals, which was remarkable!

With so many beautiful entries across all four themes; majestic landscapes, wildlife wonders, tranquil waters and macros of nature, it made the judging very difficult.

However, the diverse judging panel took all entries through a robust judging process, using a criteria centred around the original brief, technical specifications and visual appeal, and the winners have now been announced!

The Overall Winner of the Calming Nature Photography Competition 2024 is: Ana Tunaru!

Huge congratulations to you! You can see the winning photograph below:

The judges said:

“Ana’s entry into the Calming Nature photography competition instantly captivated the panel of judges. The stunning image of the salt planes really summed up the theme with its tranquillity and composition bringing forward an array of calming feelings, not just though its beauty, but the ability to lose yourself in thought whilst admiring the photograph. The technical elements of the image capture also really impressed the judges. We could see the due care and process had been undertaken in the time of day, the position for composition and settings used to be able to portray the scene in its full glory making use of the reflective properties of the salt plane to double up the clouds.

We are proud as a panel in the decision-making process and appreciated all the entries. It made for a challenging but delightful process due to all the fantastic art that was submitted.”

As well as the overall winner there were 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for each of the four themes, and 32 runner ups who are highly commended. Congratulations to all the winners for their amazing entries.
