How to access this service
To access this service you will need to be referred by your GP (after the initial screening tests have been completed by GP). GPs can email nlft.Islingtonmemoryservice@nhs.net
Who is this service for?
Islington residents who are concerned about their memory, after an initial discussion with their GP. We generally treat people who are over 65 years of age but we can also see younger patients in certain circumstances.
What to expect
After we receive a referral from your GP we will carry out an initial assessment, usually by one of the team doctors, and generally at your home. We may then request further diagnostic tests (a CT head scan, further blood tests, for example). Once we get the test results, we will arrange a feedback appointment with you. At this appointment we will discuss the test results with you and you will be given a diagnosis and offered treatment if appropriate.
We also give you signposting information to help and support available for patients and carers.
- Highly skilled and committed staff team
- Positive patient feedback
- Much shorter waiting times compared to other trusts
