Recovery College

  • The Recovery College Summer 2025 course guide  and calendar are now available and enrolment is open for courses running April-July.

If you enrol before term starts on 22 April, please only contact us if you have not received an enrolment confirmation email by 18 April.

The Recovery College co-produces recovery-focused courses (in person and online) for everyone 18+ in Camden and Islington.  Our courses are lively, aspirational and interactive – and promote hope that recovery is possible. We aim to empower people in practical ways by teaching self-care tools to improve wellbeing.

What to expect

We work using the model of co-production, where professionals from our Trust and community work together with peer tutors, who have lived and professional experience, to co-produce recovery-focused courses.  Co-production continues with our students who have their own knowledge, skills and experience to share in courses.

Who is this service for?

No referral is needed.  Everyone aged 18+ who lives or works in Camden or Islington can access our free courses.

NLFT staff can enrol on all courses, but please be aware that all our in-person courses take place in Camden and Islington.

C&I service users are welcome, as are friends, family, other professionals and members of the public.   We have also provided our expertise outside London, customers include Changing Lives (Newcastle-upon-Tyne) and Berlin Recovery College, and are now involved in a project to create a Recovery College in the Balkans.

How to enrol

How to enrol using our online enrolment form

  1. Choose up to three courses from our course guide and course calendar.
  2. Fill out and submit the Recovery College online enrolment form if you live, work or receive support in Camden or Islington. Please read our Privacy Notice [pdf] 103KB before enrolling.
  3. Once you have submitted the form, we will email you confirmation of your enrolment with the venue, or Microsoft Teams link (for online courses) or YouTube link (for video courses).  Check your junk folder in case the email goes there.

In-person enrolment sessions for 2025:

You can enrol in person at our Open Day on Wednesday 23 April 10-1  (venue TBC soon).
Other dates will be published later in April.

Once you have enrolled, for attending online courses only:

  1. We will email you an MS Teams course link the day before the course (check your junk folder if you don't see it).

  2. Test the link in your email before the day of the course. Click it. See what happens. Test it on your device so you know what to expect. Teams will ask whether you prefer to join in a browser (Edge, Chrome) or in an app on a mobile device like a phone or tablet. You don't have to install anything or register. However, some students report better results if you do download the Teams app or use a registered Teams account.

  3. Don’t worry, the actual course will only open just before the scheduled time and date.
[You can also click on 'Joining a C&I Recovery College Online Workshop' in Useful Information and Resources on this webpage and follow the steps]

  4. Click on the course link at least 5 minutes before the session start time.
