Eating Disorders
The Eating Disorder Service is a national specialist centre based at St Ann’s Hospital in the London Borough of Haringey.
We provide care and treatment to people aged 18 years and above with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder.
What is our catchment area?
St Ann’s Eating Disorders Service provides a comprehensive, specialist service to the North Central and North East London sectors. The service is comprised of Iris Ward, which is a national provider of specialist eating disorder inpatient treatment, along with a community service and a day programme.
What services do we offer?
Outpatient Treatment: We offer a comprehensive outpatient service, offering assessment and treatment in patients with eating disorder symptoms. We operate as a large multidisciplinary team, including medical input, community liaison nursing, specialist dietetic input and psychology. Inpatient Treatment: The Iris Ward is a 20-bedded acute inpatient unit for adult females and males and is located at Blossom Court, St Ann’s Hospital.
Day Programme: The Day Programme has six spaces and operates on Monday to Friday, 10am–3.30pm
Who can refer?
Referrals are accepted as follows:
Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield & Haringey: Referrals are accepted directly from GP’s or secondary care mental health services.
East London (City and Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham): Referrals are accepted from secondary care mental health services following a local initial assessment. Please note that in order to access tertiary service input at St Ann’s, patients should remain open to their local mental health service.
Inpatient care is also offered to patients from a wider catchment area. Please contact us directly for details.
How to refer
We have a referral form detailing the information required. Please this form is fully completed to allow us to assess and triage referrals appropriately.
Forms can be completed either digitally or handwritten. Please feel free to attach any further information you feel may be relevant to the referral.
